(서울=연합뉴스) 정수연 기자 = 해병대 채상병 순직 1년을 맞아 추모를 위한 시민 분향소가 서울 청계광장에 설치된다.

서울시는 해병대 예비역연대와 협의해 청계광장 스프링(소라탑) 앞에 채상병 1주기 분향소 2개 동을 설치한다고 9일 밝혔다.

분향소는 순직 1주기인 오는 19일을 앞두고 17일부터 19일까지 운영된다.

오세훈 서울시장은 전날 채상병 1주기 분향소 관련 보도를 접하고 해병대 예비역연대와 함께 분향소 부지를 신속히 확보할 것을 지시했다고 시는 밝혔다.

이에 김병민 정무부시장은 이날 오후 정원철 해병대 예비역연대 회장 등을 만나 장소를 확정했다.

지난 4일 해병대 예비역연대는 채상병 1주기 분향소를 설치하기 위해 17∼19일 광화문광장 사용 허가 신청서를 시에 제출했다.

하지만 서울시는 이 시기 광화문광장 사용은 사실상 어렵다는 입장이라는 일부 보도가 나왔다.

서울시는 "시민 분향소가 원활하게 운영되도록 적극적으로 지원하고 협조하겠다"고 말했다.
