(청주=연합뉴스) 박재천 기자 = 청주시는 가경터미널시장을 제1호 치매안심전통시장으로 지정했다고 8일 밝혔다.

치매안심전통시장은 치매 환자도 안심하고 다닐 수 있는 시장 거리 조성을 위해 흥덕보건소가 올해 새로 추진하는 사업이다.

흥덕보건소는 치매 안전망 구축을 위해 가경터미널시장 상가 51곳을 치매안심가맹점으로 지정하고 '안심등불' 표찰을 부착했다.

이들 상가는 실종된 치매 환자가 배회하는 모습을 보면 보건소나 경찰에 신고하고,우리는 맞고 너희는 틀렸다치매 환자를 배려·보호하는 등의 역할을 한다.

보건소는 시장 상인과 이용객들을 대상으로 '치매 인식개선 캠페인'과 치매 고위험군 조기 발견을 위한 '찾아가는 인지 선별검사'도 실시할 예정이다.

오는 9월에는 치매 환자를 조기에 발견해 실종으로 이어지는 것을 예방하기 위한 모의훈련을 진행한다.

방영란 흥덕보건소장은 "노인 인구와 함께 치매 환자도 증가하고 있어 치매 환자의 실종 예방 대응체계 구축이 시급하다"며 "치매가 있어도 안심하고 다닐 수 있는 치매 친화적 환경 조성에 신경 쓸 것"이라고 말했다.
