공정거래위원회가 개업의들의 집단 휴진을 강요한 의혹을 받는 대한의사협회에 대해 현장조사에 착수했다.

공정위 조사관들은 19일 오전 9시 30분쯤 서울 용산구에 있는 의협 사무실에 나가 집단휴진을 강요한 정황 자료를 살피고 있는 것으로 확인됐다.

이번 현장조사는 보건복지부가 17일 공정위에 의사협회를 신고한 이후 이틀 만에 나온 것으로 신속한 대응으로 분석된다.

공정위는 의협의 집단 휴진이 공정거래법상 금지된 사업자단체 행위에 해당하는지 여부를 살피고 있다.

앞서 개원의들이 소속된 의협은 18일 전면 휴진을 진행했다.

공정위 관계자는 “휴진 신고율에 비해서 예상보다 실제 휴진 참가율이 높았다”고 주목했다.

공정위는 향후 현장 조사 내용을 토대로 의협에 대한 시정명령과 과징금 부과 등을 결정할 방침이다.
