삼성전자가 새 갤럭시 스마트폰을 공개하는 '갤럭시 언팩' 하반기 행사를 7월 올림픽 개최를 앞둔 프랑스 파리에서 연다.

삼성전자는 '갤럭시 언팩 2024' 행사를 다음 달 10일 오후 10시(한국시간) 프랑스 파리에서 개최한다고 26일 공식 발표했다.함께 공개된 초대장 영상은 폴더블(접을 수 있는) 스마트폰을 형상화한 사각형 개체가 위에서 회전하는 가운데 그림자로 파리의 상징 에펠탑과 올해 초 공개한 인공지능(AI) 응용 서비스 '갤럭시 AI'의 상징이 차례로 나타나는 모습을 담았다.

이번 갤럭시 언팩에서는 폴더블 스마트폰 '갤럭시 Z' 시리즈 최신작인 '갤럭시 Z폴드6'와 'Z플립6'가 공개될 전망이다.이들 제품은 폴더블 스마트폰 가운데 최초로 갤럭시 AI를 품는다.웨어러블(입을 수 있는) 제품 가운데선 스마트워치 '갤럭시 워치7',오늘축구중계방송국무선이어폰 '갤럭시 버즈3' 등과 함께 삼성전자가 처음으로 선보이는 반지 형태 제품 '갤럭시 링'도 모습을 드러낼 것으로 보인다.

언팩 장소로 파리가 선정된 것은 곧 열리는 올림픽과의 연계로 마케팅 효과를 극대화하기 위한 것으로 풀이된다.삼성전자는 올림픽 공식 파트너로 파리 샹젤리제 거리에 4월부터 '올림픽 체험관'을 열었으며 '오픈 올웨이즈 윈스(열린 마음은 언제나 승리한다)'라는 메시지를 내걸고 다양한 광고를 선보이고 있다.

행사는 한국에선 삼성전자 뉴스룸,오늘축구중계방송국삼성닷컴,오늘축구중계방송국삼성전자 유튜브 등 온라인을 통해 볼 수 있다.삼성전자 측은 "갤럭시 생태계로 확장돼 더 강력해진 '갤럭시 AI'가 펼쳐갈 무한한 가능성과 삼성전자의 혁신을 직접 만나보시길 바란다"고 밝혔다.
