국제원자력기구 IAEA는 우크라이나 자포리자 원전에서 발생한 냉각탑 화재 원인을 조사했지만 원인을 파악할 수 없었다고 밝혔습니다.

자포리자 원전은 유럽 최대의 원자력 발전소로,베네수엘라 야구우크라이나 인력들이 시설을 운영하지만 러시아가 원전 일대를 점령해 통제하고 있습니다.

현지 시간 11일 자포리자 원전에 화재가 발생해 냉각탑 2개 중 1개가 손상되자 러시아와 우크라이나는 상대방이 이를 촉발했다고 비난했습니다.

러시아는 우크라이나의 드론 공격으로 불이 났고,베네수엘라 야구우크라이나는 러시아군이 냉각탑 안에서 타이어를 태워 화재를 꾸며냈다고 주장했습니다.

IAEA는 성명을 통해 "IAEA 자포리자 지원임무단이 화재의 영향을 즉각 평가해달라는 요청에 따라 냉각탑 부분에 접근했다"며 "관찰 결과를 토대로 일차적인 화재 원인이 냉각탑 바닥에서 시작됐을 가능성은 작다고 평가했다"고 밝혔습니다.

IAEA는 이와 함께 점검 중 타이어나 드론 잔해는 관찰되지 않았다며 조사팀은 냉각탑 바닥에 위치한 파편이나 재,베네수엘라 야구그을음 등에 큰 교란 징후가 없음을 확인했다고 덧붙였습니다.

또 지금까지의 조사,베네수엘라 야구관찰 결과에 근거해 화재 원인에 대한 확실한 결론을 내리지는 못했다고 설명했습니다.
