평택시는 13일 브리핑을 갖고 우선 전기차 주차장의 지상 이전을 지원한다고 밝혔다.전기차 주차장의 경우 보통 지하에 설치돼 있어 화재 발생 시 연기에 의한 대형사고로 이어질 수 있다는 판단이다.시는 기존 추진해 오던 공동주택 지원사업을 통해 전기차 주차장 이전비용을 마련할 방침이다.

이와 함께 전기차 화재를 효과적으로 진압할 수 있는 질식소화덮개를 관내 소방서에 지원하고,2014년 9월 25일 야구 경기일정전기차 주차장이 설치된 공동주택 단지의 전기차 시설물을 경기도와 함께 전수조사할 계획이다.특히 지하주차장의 스프링클러 작동 여부 등을 조사하고,2014년 9월 25일 야구 경기일정안전에 취약한 시설물을 발견하면 즉시 시정 조치를 취할 예정이다.
