벌초 작업을 하던 50대가 벌에 쏘여 숨졌습니다.

어제(15일) 오후 1시 40분쯤 보령 천북면에서 벌초 작업을 하던 A(50대) 씨가 벌에 쏘였다는 신고가 접수됐습니다.

A 씨는 심정지 상태로 병원으로 옮겨졌으나 숨졌습니다.

경찰은 독성이 강한 벌에 쏘여 숨진 것으로 보고 자세한 사망 경위를 조사하고 있습니다.

소방청에 따르면 최근 3년간 전국 벌집 제거 출동 건수는 총 62만 2천여 건으로 7∼9월에만 80%를 차지하는 것으로 나타났습니다.

또 장마철 이후 벌 개체와 벌 쏘임 사고가 증가하며 추석 1개월 전 벌초 기간에 출동 건수가 50% 급증하는 것으로 나타났습니다.

소방 관계자는 벌초 시 벌을 자극할 수 있는 향수나 화장품 사용은 자제하고 어두운 색에 공격성을 보이기 때문에 밝은 계열의 옷을 착용하는 것이 좋다며 벌에 쏘였다면 즉시 119에 신고해 병원 치료를 받아야 한다고 전했습니다.
