공수처장 제청으로 대통령이 임명

[서울=뉴시스]김래현 기자 = 고위공직자범죄수사처(공수처)가 10일 이재승(50·사법연수원 30기) 변호사를 차장으로 임명 제청했다고 밝혔다.

이 변호사는 사법연수원 30기로,2024년 05월 09일 두산 키움서울대학교 법과대학을 졸업한 후 지난 2004년 인천지검에서 검사 생활을 시작했다.이후 춘천지검 강릉지청과 서울중앙지검 등을 거쳐 부산지검에서 부부장검사를 지냈다.2019년 서울서부지검 부장검사를 마지막으로 검사 생활을 마친 후 2020년 10월부터는 변호사직을 수행해 왔다.

공수처 설치 및 운영에 관한 법률(공수처법)에 따르면 차장은 처장의 제청으로 대통령이 임명한다.

이 변호사가 임명되게 되면 지난 5월21일 오동운 공수처장 취임 이후 한 달여 넘게 공석이던 차장 자리가 채워지게 된다.

오 처장은 "차장 임명이 마무리되면 신임 차장과 함께 공수처가 공정하고 국민의 신뢰를 받는 독립 수사기관으로 발돋움할 수 있도록 최선을 다해 조직을 이끌어 나가겠다"고 말했다.
