1일 통신업계에 따르면 KT는 이날 사내독립조직으로 안전보건총괄(CSHO)을 신설했다.담당은 임현규 경영지원부문장(부사장)이 겸직한다.이를 통해 KT그룹 전사의 안전보건 관리체계와 콘트럴타워 역할을 강화한다는 계획이다.

그룹 차원의 브랜드 이미지(BI)와 기업 이미지(CI) 체계를 정립하고 그룹사 간 시너지 강화를 위해 브랜드 전략실도 신설했다.이는 기존 브랜드커뮤니케이션 담당 조직의 기능을 확대한 것으로 윤태식 상무가 실장으로 보임됐다.

인공지능 부문에 대해 외부인재도 영입했다.기술혁신부문 AI2X랩 AI코어기술담당에 엔씨소프트에서 AI테크센터장을 지낸 신동훈 상무를 영입했다.신 상무는 연세대 컴퓨터과학과를 졸업하고 동대학원에서 석사와 박사학위를 취득했다.

회사 안팎에서는 연말 정기인사를 앞두고 미디어부문을 비롯해 대규모 개편이 이뤄질 수 있다는 전망이 나왔으나 일부 조직의 기능 확대 방향으로 인사가 이뤄졌다.

KT 관계자는 "급변하는 사업환경과 기술변화에 신속하게 대응하고 조직의 경쟁력 강화 차원에서 회사 전략 방향에 맞춰 일부 조직을 개선하고 임원인사를 시행했다"고 말했다.
