원 후보는 이날 대구 달서구 두류공원 2·28 자유광장에서 열린 대구치맥페스티벌 개막식 행사에서 홍 시장과 함께 무대에 올랐다.

그는 홍 시장과 치맥(치킨+맥주)을 즐기는 퍼포먼스도 했다.

원 후보는 무대에서 내려와 지지자들에게 인사를 건네거나 함께 사진을 찍은 뒤 행사장을 떠났다.

이날 대구를 찾은 다른 당권 주자 후보들도 치맥페스티벌 개막식에 참석할 계획이었으나 당 안팎 사정 등으로 일정을 취소한 것으로 전해졌다.
