[헤럴드경제(경산)=김병진 기자]경북 경산시는 25일 경산시민회관에서 6·25전쟁의 역사적 의미를 재조명하고 희생과 헌신으로 나라를 지킨 6·25 참전유공자에 대한 존경과 감사를 전하기 위해 '6·25전쟁 제74주년 기념식'을 개최했다.

이날 기념식은 6·25참전유공자,위너즈 토토국가유공자와 유족,기관단체장 등 600여명이 참석한 가운데 소리향 예술단,위너즈 토토육군제2작전사령부 군악대의 기념공연을 시작으로 국민의례,화랑무공훈장 전수 및 표창 수여,위너즈 토토기념사,헌시 낭송,결의문 낭독,위너즈 토토6·25의 노래 제창 순으로 진행됐다.

화랑무공훈장은 6·25전쟁에 참전해 공을 세운 고 황대석 상병의 유가족에게 국방부 장관을 대신해 전수하고 경산시는 국가를 위한 숭고한 희생에 감사함을 표했다.

또 이날 기념식에는 경산중학교 1학년 학생 280명이 참여해 6·25전쟁의 역사적 교훈을 되새기는 시간을 가졌다.전쟁 당시 공군 종군 문인이었던 조지훈 시인이 전쟁의 참상을 보고 창작한 작품인 '다부원에서'를 직접 낭송해 의미를 더했다.

한편 경산시는 6월 호국보훈의 달을 맞이해 지역 내 6·25 참전유공자에게 위문품을 전달하고 24일 보훈안보단체장 간담회를 개최해 의견을 청취하고 그동안의 공헌과 노고에 대한 감사와 존경의 뜻을 전했다.

조현일 경산시장은 "이 땅의 자유와 평화를 지켜낸 참전유공자분들의 희생과 공헌에 깊은 감사와 경의를 표한다"며 "국가유공자와 유가족들이 예우받고 존경받는 지역사회,위너즈 토토내일이 더 기대되는 희망과 기회의 도시를 위해 최선을 다하겠다"고 말했다.
