(도쿄=연합뉴스) 박상현 특파원 = 일본 정부가 남녀 임금 격차를 줄이기 위해 일부 기업을 대상으로 여성 관리직 비율 공개를 의무화하는 방안을 추진한다고 니혼게이자이신문(닛케이)이 28일 보도했다.

일본 후생노동성은 상장 여부와 관계없이 종업원 301명 이상인 기업 약 1천8천 개를 대상으로 과장 이상 관리직 중 여성 비율을 기업 홈페이지 등에 공표하도록 할 방침이다.

후생노동성은 종업원 101명 이상 기업을 의무화 대상 기준으로 정하는 방안도 검토하고 있다.

이처럼 대상을 확대하면 약 5만 개 기업이 여성 관리직 비율을 공개해야 할 것으로 예상된다.

후생노동성은 자문기구 논의를 바탕으로 이르면 내년 정기국회에 관련 법률 개정안을 제출할 예정이다.

일본 정부는 여성 관리직 비율 공개 의무를 어긴 기업에 따로 벌칙을 가하지 않을 계획이지만,2024 AFC U-23 카타르 아시안컵 중국 영상비공개 기업에는 투자와 취업을 꺼리는 분위기가 형성되는 등 정책 실효성이 있을 것으로 보고 있다.

닛케이는 "일본은 남녀 임금 격차가 주요 7개국(G7) 중 가장 크다"며 일본 정부가 여성 관리직 비율 공개를 계기로 기업이 여성 관리직 등용에 적극적으로 나서길 기대하고 있다고 전했다.
