일본 ANA항공서 사용…수요 증가에 유럽 등 수출 확대 추진

(서울=연합뉴스) 김아람 기자 = HD현대오일뱅크는 국내 최초로 지속가능항공유(SAF) 수출에 나선다고 16일 밝혔다.

HD현대오일뱅크가 생산한 지속가능항공유는 일본 트레이닝 회사 마루베니에 공급되며,ANA항공(전일본공수)이 사용한다.일본의 한국산 지속가능항공유 수입은 처음이다.

지속가능항공유는 화석연료가 아닌 폐식용유 등 바이오 기반 원료로 생산한 친환경 원료로,프로야구 한국시리즈 1차전항공업계 탄소 감축에 가장 효과적 방법으로 꼽힌다.

이번 제품은 HD현대오일뱅크의 기존 정유 설비에 석유 기반 원료와 동식물성 바이오 원료를 함께 투입하는 '코프로세싱' 방식이 활용돼 생산된다.

국제민간항공기구(ICAO)의 탄소 배출 감축 목표에 따라 일본 정부는 2030년까지 항공유 수요의 10%를 지속가능항공유로 대체하는 정책을 발표한 바 있다.

HD현대오일뱅크는 일본뿐 아니라 유럽 등에서도 지속가능항공유 수요가 늘어날 것에 대비해 시장 공략에 적극적으로 나설 계획이다.

박진혁 HD현대오일뱅크 글로벌사업본부 상무는 "글로벌 수요가 높아지는 만큼 적극적인 수출로 세계 시장의 지속가능항공유 주도권을 확보하겠다"며 "바이오 납사,프로야구 한국시리즈 1차전바이오 경유 등 코프로세싱 방식 바이오 연료 수출도 확대해 가겠다"고 말했다.
