(서울=뉴스1) 손엄지 기자 = 인공지능(AI) 전문 자회사 카카오브레인 인력을 수혈한 카카오(035720)가 AI 전담조직을 신설한다.서비스와 개발 '투톱' 체제로 운영하면서 AI 기술 개발에 속도를 낼 전망이다.

11일 카카오에 따르면 이달 초 카카오는 AI 전담조직 '카나나'를 만들었다.AI서비스 중심 조직을 '카나나 엑스',잭팟이 있는 무료 카지노 게임AI모델 개발 중심 조직은 '카나나 알파'로 나눴다.

이달 1일 카카오브레인 임직원이 카카오에 합류하면서 본사에 AI 전문 인력이 늘어나면서 카카오는 AI 전담 조직을 확대하고 역할을 구체화하고 있다.

카카오 관계자는 "카나나는 AI 조직 통합을 위한 프로젝트 네임"이라면서 "두 조직은 원팀처럼 일하며 시너지를 극대화할 예정"이라고 말했다.

기존 최고AI책임자(CAIO) 직책은 폐지된다.CAIO는 프로덕트 오너(PO·Product Owner)와 펑션 오너(FO·Function Owner)로 직책이 나눠진다.
