KBS는 15일 문화예술 프로그램 'KBS 중계석'을 통해 일본 배경의 오페라 '나비부인'을 방송했습니다.

'나비부인(1904)'은 자코모 푸치니가 동명의 소설을 바탕으로 작곡한 오페라로 미국이 일본을 강제 개항하도록 한 1900년대 일본 나가사키를 배경으로 합니다.

미국 해군장교 핑커톤과 15세에 게이샤가 된 나비부인 초초상 사이의 비극적 사랑을 다루는데 여자 주인공이 처음부터 끝까지 기모노를 입고 등장하며 결혼식 장면에선 기미가요가 나오는 등 일본색이 짙은 오페라입니다.

방송 후 KBS 시청자게시판에는 "광복절 공영방송에서 기미가요와 기모노가 뭐냐" "일본 방송 아니냐"는 등 항의가 쏟아졌습니다.
