이숙연 대법관 후보자의 20대 딸이 7억 원대 서울의 다세대주택을 갭투자로 사들였다는 사실이 알려져 논란이 일고 있습니다.

이른바 '아빠 찬스' 논란인데,야구 선수 사망이 후보자 측은 증여세 등 각종 세금을 성실하게 납부했다면서도 국민 입장을 생각하면 마음이 무겁다고 밝혔습니다.

김태훈 기자의 보도입니다.

서울 용산구 효창동의 한 다세대 주택.

이숙연 대법관 후보자의 딸 27살 조 모 씨는 2년 전,이곳의 2층 한 세대를 7억 7천만 원에 사들였습니다.

[부동산 중개사/음성변조 : "개발 호재 있죠.당연히 그쪽이 많이 올랐어요.투자할 돈이 있으면 투자하긴 좋죠."]

2억 6천만 원의 전세금을 끼고 구입한 이른바 '갭투자'였습니다.

계약금 3억 800만 원은 아버지에게 증여받았고,야구 선수 사망잔금 가운데 2억 2백만 원은 아버지에게 빌렸습니다.

별다른 소득이 없었지만 빌린 돈은 9개월 만에 모두 갚았습니다.

2017년 아버지의 추천으로 1,야구 선수 사망200만 원에 사들인 비상장 주식의 평가액이 6년 만에 30배 넘게 급등했고 일부를 팔아 갚은 겁니다.

'아빠 찬스' 논란에 이 후보자 측은 "증여세 등 세금을 그때그때 빠짐없이 납부했다"면서도 "결과적으로 자녀들이 나이와 경력에 비해 많은 재산을 보유하게 돼 마음이 무겁다"고 밝혔습니다.

다만 이 후보자는 본인과 배우자가 2011년부터 소외된 이웃 돕기를 실천해 왔다며 최근 5년 동안 기부액이 6억 원을 넘는다고 전했습니다.

이 후보자는 또 복권회사 공동대표인 배우자 조형섭 씨가 복권법 위반 혐의로 경찰 수사를 받는 것에 대해 "모두 복권사업 입찰 탈락자 등에 의한 고소·고발"이라고 밝혔습니다.

"앞서 고발된 3건은 이미 무혐의 처분을 받았고,남은 복권법 위반 혐의도 감독기관인 기획재정부로부터 법 위반이 아니라는 의견을 수차례 확인받았다"고 설명했습니다.
