'회기 계속의 원칙' 적용…3일 본회의에서 실시

(대전=연합뉴스) 김준범 기자 = 대전시의회는 제9대 후반기 의장단 선출을 위한 2차 투표를 오는 3일 본회의에서 진행할 계획이라고 2일 밝혔다.

앞서 시의회는 지난달 26일 제279회 임시회 1차 본회의를 열고 후반기 의장 후보로 등록한 김선광 의원(중구2·국민의힘)에 대한 의장 선출 투표를 했지만 재적 의원 22명 가운데 찬성 11표,야구 유니폼 건조기무효 11표로 동률을 이뤄 부결됐다.

과반 득표가 나오지 않아 2차 투표가 예정됐지만 의결정족수를 채우지 못해 오후 4시 40분께 산회가 선포되면서 결국 의장 선출은 결론을 내리지 못한 상태로 파행을 빚어왔다.

의회사무처는 의장단 선출을 위해 다시 후보 등록을 받는 방안도 고려했지만 '회기 계속의 원칙'에 따라 2차 투표를 진행할 수 있는 법률검토를 마쳤다.

다만 3일 오전 10시에 열리는 2차 투표 결과가 1차 투표와 같이 동률을 이루거나 12명 이상의 의결정족수를 채우지 못하면 후보 재등록을 받을 계획이다.
