일제가 패망한 79년 전 8월 15일,바카라100전백승광복의 감격을 생생하게 기억하는 104세의 철학자 김형석 교수를 KBS가 만났습니다.

1945년 8월 15일.

그날의 풍경은 어땠을까요?

김현경 기자가 인터뷰했습니다.

[리포트]

1945년 8월 15일 새벽.

평안남도에 살고 있던 김형석 교수는 이상한 꿈을 꿨습니다.

["8월15일 새벽에 꿈을 꾸게됐어요.붉은 태양이 동쪽 산으로 넘어가는 거예요.어.태양이 서쪽으로 가지 않고 왜 동쪽으로."]

깨자마자 8킬로미터 떨어진 평양으로 달려갔습니다.

그날 정오 가게에서 라디오 방송을 들었습니다.

["중대 발표가 뭔고 하니 모든 전쟁은 중단하고 일본군은 무조건 항복한다고.뭔지 어리둥절했죠."]

전국은 환호의 물결로 가득찼습니다.

["대한독립 만세!"]

["제일 많이 들은 얘기가 뭔고 하니 우리 아버지 세대 사람들은 이젠 죽어도 한이 없다.그리고 우리 세대는 뭔고 하니 이제 우리도 나라가 있으니까 인간답게 산다."]

그러나 광복의 기쁨도 잠시.

["우리 고향에 김성주라고 하는 사람이 있었는데 초등학교 선배고요.20년 만에 귀국해서 고향에 왔다고."]

["같이 아침을 먹었어요.누가 김성주에게 우리나라가 어떤 나라가 될 것 같냐 그러니까 부자들은 다 숙청하고 사는 나라가 된다고."]

["뭔가 좀 이상하다고 생각하고 돌아오고는 잊어버리고 있었는데 (1945년)10월 초순에 평양공설운동장에서 김일성 장군 환영회가 있다.동네 어른들이 김일성 장군이 누군가하고 가봤더니 우리 동네 성주야 그래요."]

공산주의의 실체를 알고 있었던 김 교수는 2년 뒤 남으로 내려옵니다.

지금도 광복절만 되면 만감이 교차합니다.

["광복의 의미가 완전해지기 위해서는 둘로 쪼개졌던 나라가 하나가 돼야겠는데 그때가 돼야 완전히 해결되는 건데 언제쯤 오는가."]
