[이코노미스트 원태영 기자]KT가 그룹 브랜드 이미지 제고와 사내 안전·보건 관리를 강화하는 방향의 소폭 조직 개편을 단행했다.

KT는 1일 김영섭 대표 직속으로 안전보건총괄 조직을 신설하고 그룹 이미지를 담당하는 브랜드커뮤니케이션 조직은 담당에서 실로 격상했다.

CEO 직속으로 신설한 안전보건총괄 조직은 임현규 경영지원부문장(부사장)이 겸직한다.브랜드커뮤니케이션전략실장은 윤태식 브랜드 커뮤니케이션 담당(상무)이 맡는다.KT는 이번 브랜드전략 조직 격상을 통해 그룹의 브랜드를 확립하고 기업 이미지(BI·CI) 체계를 정립하는 등 그룹사 전체의 이미지를 강화한다는 전략이다.

아울러 KT는 AI·빅데이터 거버넌스 수립과 미래 핵심기술 개발을 담당하는 AI2X랩의 AI코어기술담당에 신동훈 상무를 선임했다.신 상무는 엔씨소프트 출신으로 AI 전문가다.

이번 조직개편은 임원 수십 명 교체 등이 거론되던 것과 달리 비교적 소폭 인사로 마무리됐다는 평가다.
