기시다 후미오 일본 총리가 대한민국 광복절이자 일본 패전일인 15일 'A급 전범 합사' 도쿄 야스쿠니 신사에 공물을 봉납했다.

이날 교도통신은 자민당 관계자 말을 인용해 "기시다 총리가 도쿄 지요다구의 야스쿠니 신사에 '다마구시' 대금을 봉납했다"고 보도했다.

보도에 따르면 기시다 총리는 직접 참배는 하지 않았으나 현직 각료인 기하라 미노루 방위상,이상형 월드컵 특이한 가사신도 요시타카 경제재생담당상 등은 직접 야스쿠니 신사에 참배했다.

일본 패전일에 현직 각료가 야스쿠니 신사에 참배하는 것은 지난 2020년 이후 5년째 이어지고 있으며 차기 자민당 총재 선거에 출마할 가능성이 거론되는 고이즈미 신지로 전 환경상,이상형 월드컵 특이한 가사고바야시 다카유키 전 경제보안담당상도 참배에 참여한 것으로 전해졌다.

기시다 총리는 지난 2021년 10월 취임한 이후 같은 해 10월을 포함해 2022년과 2023년 각각 4월·8월·10월에 야스쿠니 신사에 공물을 봉납해 왔다.올해 역시 지난 4월에 공물을 봉납했으며 직접 참배한 적은 없다.

한편 야스쿠니 신사는 메이지 유신 전후 일본에서 벌어진 내전 및 일제가 일으킨 전쟁에서 숨진 246만6000여 명의 영령을 추모하는 시설이다.또 신사에는 도쿄재판에 따라 처형된 도조 히데키 전 총리 등 태평양전쟁의 A급 전범 14명도 합사돼 있다.
