(서울=연합뉴스) 김주환 기자 = NC문화재단은 한국과학기술원(KAIST)과 27~28일 인공지능(AI) 학술 행사 '페어(FAIR) AI 콘퍼런스 2024'를 개최했다고 밝혔다.

서울 종로구 NC문화재단 사옥에서 열린 행사에는 국내외 AI 연구자,개발자,교육자 등 전문가 250여명이 참석했다.

윤송이 NC문화재단 이사장은 첫날 환영사에서 "AI를 지혜롭게 활용하기 위해서는 인간의 창의성이 중요하다"며 "AI는 인간의 창의성을 위협하는 것이 아닌,강화하는 방향으로 사용해야 한다"고 말했다.

이어 연단에 선 아구스틴 라요 매사추세츠공대(MIT) 인문·예술·사회과학대학 학장은 "인공지능의 발전 방향을 올바르게 설정하기 위해서는 지금 행동해야만 한다"며 "MIT는 기술적인 면뿐만 아니라 경제,정치,잭팟 액상사회,윤리적 측면도 깊게 이해할 수 있는 공학자를 양성하는 것에 전념하고 있다"고 말했다.

첫날 강의·토론 세션에는 하정우 네이버클라우드 AI이노베이션 센터장,잭팟 액상오카 미즈키 쓰쿠바대 교수,윤정현 국가안보전략연구원 부연구위원,잭팟 액상이숙연 특허법원 판사,케이시 베넷 드폴대 교수,문정욱 정보통신정책연구원 실장 등이 참석해 AI 윤리와 관련한 발표를 진행했다.

둘째 날에는 컴퓨터공학과 인문학,사회과학이 결합된 AI 윤리 교육 '임베디드 에틱스'(Embedded EthiCS)를 주제로 노유란 NC문화재단 사업팀장,제임스 랜데이 스탠퍼드대 인간중심 인공지능연구소 공동소장,천현득 서울대 교수 등이 강연했다.

윤송이 이사장은 "콘퍼런스가 AI 윤리에 대한 인식을 높이고,다가오는 AI 시대를 본격적으로 준비하는 기점이 되기를 바란다"고 말했다.
