국내 리셀 플랫폼을 검색하니 해당 가방이 정가의 두 배인 3000만 원 중반대에 팔립니다.

이런 현상에 대해 미국 월스트리트저널은 일반적인 경제 상식을 뒤집고 있다고 분석했습니다.

월스트리트에 따르면,미국 매장에서 버킨백 기본 모델인 검은색 '버킨 25'백 가격은 세전 1만1400달러, 우리돈 약 1600만원이지만 구매자가 곧바로 되팔면 2배가 넘는 2만 3000달러,약 3200만원을 받을 수 있습니다.

리셀 가격이 더 치솟는 건 희소성 때문입니다.

매장에서 버킨백을 손에 넣으려면 스카프 등 다른 제품을 1억 원 가까이구매한 이력을 쌓고 1년 가까이 기다려야 합니다.

이에 월스트리트저널은 "대기자 중 누구에게 판매할지 정하는 건 직원"이라며 "에르메스 매장에선 상대에게 먼저 깍듯한 인사를 건네는 건 직원이 아닌 고객"이라고 꼬집었습니다.
