한화,아시안컵 어제K-RE100 가입 후 첫 이행계약 체결

(서울=연합뉴스) 한상용 기자 = ㈜한화 글로벌부문(한화 글로벌)은 K-RE100 이행 차원에서 한화신한테라와트아워로부터 20년간 매년 5천398㎿h(메가와트시)의 재생에너지 전기를 공급받는 직접전력거래 계약을 체결했다고 11일 밝혔다.

이번 계약은 ㈜한화가 올해 1월 K-RE100에 가입한 뒤 처음 체결한 K-RE100 이행 계약이다.K-RE100은 기업이 사용하는 전력 100%를 재생에너지로 전환해 사용하는 글로벌 캠페인 RE100의 한국형 제도다.

한화는 지난 1월 K-RE100 가입 당시 오는 2040년까지 전력 사용량의 100%를 재생에너지 전기로 전환하겠다는 목표를 제시한 바 있다.

이번 계약을 통해 생산되는 재생에너지 전기는 한화의 울산 온산공장에 공급될 예정이다.

해당 전력량은 온산공장 전력 사용량의 20% 정도를 대체할 수 있다.온산공장은 섬유용 염료나 페인트 등의 원료로 쓰이는 질산과 질산암모늄을 생산한다.

한화신한테라와트아워는 한화컨버전스와 신한금융그룹이 합작 투자해 출범한 재생에너지 전력거래 사업 전담 법인이다.

양기원 한화 글로벌 대표이사는 "이번 계약은 당사가 지향하는 친환경 경영에 부합한다"며 "K-RE100 이행률을 단계적으로 상향해 나갈 계획"이라고 말했다.
