전국적으로 폭우가 피해가 발생하고 있는 가운데 전북 익산으로 MT를 왔던 도내 의과대학에 다니는 대학생이 실종돼 경찰과 소방 당국이 수색 중이다.

11일 전북경찰청 등에 따르면 전날 오전 10시 56분쯤 "오전 4시쯤 친구가 밖으로 나갔는데 연락이 안 된다.술을 마시고 나갔는데 전화기가 꺼져 있다"는 신고가 접수됐다.

A 씨(22)는 지인들과익산시 금마면의 한 펜션을 찾았다.A씨와 함께 동아리 MT를 온 대학생 20여명은 술을 마시다가 잠든 것으로 알려졌다.

경찰과 소방 당국은 신고 직후 25명의 수색 인력을 투입해 배수로와 도로 등 주변을 수색했으나 A씨를 발견하진 못했다.

수색팀은 실종 이틀째인 이날 오전 9시부터 인력 100여명과 무인기,야구 일러스트수색견 등을 투입해 A씨를 찾고 있다.

경찰 관계자는 "대학생들이 늦게까지 술을 마셔서 신고가 다소 늦어진 것 같다"며 "실종자가 한참 비가 쏟아질 때 밖에 나가서 행방을 찾는 데 어려움을 겪고 있다"고 말했다.

이 관계자는 "펜션이 시내 외곽에 있어서 폐쇄회로(CC)TV도 많이 없는 상황"이라며 "형사와 기동대를 총동원해서 실종자 수색에 나설 예정"이라고 전했다.
