경기 화성시 소재 일차전지 제조업체인 아리셀 공장에서 화재가 발생해 다수의 인명피해가 우려되는 가운데 20명이 넘는 직원이 여전히 연락 두절 상태입니다.

오늘(24일) 경찰과 소방당국 등에 따르면 화재 발생 4시간여가 지난 오후 2시 30분 현재 연락이 닿지 않는 아리셀 공장 근로자는 모두 21명입니다.

불은 아리셀 공장 11개 동 중 3동 2층에서 발생했습니다.

3동에서 일한 근무자는 67명으로,화재 당시 1층에서 15명이,2층에서 52명이 각각 있었던 것으로 파악됐습니다.

이 중 21명이 불길을 미처 피하지 못한 채 건물 내부에 고립된 것으로 소방당국은 추정하고 있습니다.

현재까지 파악된 인명피해는 사망 1명,프리미어리그 승격팀중상 2명,경상 4명이지만,향후 인명피해 규모가 상당히 늘어날 가능성이 있습니다.

사망자는 60대 남성이며,프리미어리그 승격팀발화 지점인 3동 2층에서 발견됐습니다.

이 밖에 부상자 6명 역시 30~60대 남성으로 알려졌습니다.

지금까지 나온 사상자는 모두 한국인입니다.

소방당국은 공장 안으로 진입해 실종자를 수색하는 데에 집중할 방침입니다.

앞서 이날 오전 10시 31분 화성시 서신면 전곡리 소재 아리셀 공장 3동에서 불이 났습니다.

이 공장 3동에는 리튬 배터리 완제품 3만 5천여개가 보관 중인 것으로 파악됐습니다.

소방당국은 유해화학물질 취급 공장에서 화재가 발생한 데다가 인명피해 및 연소 확대 우려가 있어 선제적으로 대응 2단계(3∼7개 소방서에서 31∼50대의 장비를 동원하는 경보령)를 발령하고,소방관 등 인원 145명과 펌프차 등 장비 50대를 동원해 진화 작업 중입니다.
