우리금융지주가 롯데손해보험의 매각에 참여하지 않기로 결정하면서 롯데손보의 금융지주 편입이 불발됐습니다.

오늘(28일) 우리금융지주는 공시를 통해 "그룹의 비은행 경쟁력 강화방안의 일환으로 롯데손해보험 지분 인수를 검토했지만 인수를 추진하지 않기로 결정했다"고 밝혔습니다.

우리금융은 국내 금융지주 가운데 유일하게 롯데손보 예비입찰에도 참여하면서 기대감을 키웠지만 끝내 최종적으로 무산됐습니다.

또 다른 가능성이 있었던 하나금융지주도 본입찰에 참여하지 않은 것으로 전해집니다.

결국 오늘 본입찰에 국내 금융사는 한 곳도 참여하지 않았고 외국계 사모펀드 1~2곳만 참전한 것으로 파악됐습니다.

유력 주자였던 우리금융이 막판 핸들을 꺾은 이유는 가격입니다.

JKL파트너스는 적어도 2조원에서 3조원대 매각을 희망했지만 우리금융은 1조원대 인수 의향을 꺾지 않은 것으로 알려졌습니다.재무건전성이 악화되면서까지 무리한 인수에 나서지 않겠다는 기본 방침을 계속 이어간 겁니다.

롯데손보에서 발을 뺀 우리금융은 동양생명과 ABL생명 인수에 집중한다는 방침입니다.두 회사는 현재 중국 다자보험그룹 산하에 있습니다.

다자보험그룹은 동양생명과 ABL생명 패키지 매각을 희망하고 있습니다.

동양생명은 자산 규모 7위에 달하는 알짜 매물이지만 ABL생명은 좀 다릅니다.이런 점에서 우리금융이 두 회사의 인수 가격 협상에서 우위를 점할 수 있다는 분석이 나옵니다.

무엇보다 우리금융이 이번 롯데손보 본입찰에 참여하지 않으면서 '오버페이'는 하지 않겠다는 신호를 명확히 한 점도 동양생명 인수전에 영향을 미칠 것으로 보입니다.
