음주 운전을 하다 뺑소니를 한 혐의를 받는 트로트 가수 김호중(33)이 첫 재판을 앞두고 초호화 변호인단을 선임한 사실이 전해졌다.

지난 2일 김호중은 첫 재판을 앞두고 지난달 26일 법무법인 현재 소속 전상귀,조완우 변호사 2명을 추가 선임했다고 스타뉴스가 보도했다.

김호중의 변호인단은 기존에 선임했던 조남관 변호사와 검찰 출신 변호사 1명,추형운 변호사 등 3명을 포함해 총 6명이 됐다.

함께 재판을 받는 김호중 소속사 생각엔터테인먼트 이광득 대표,본부장 전모씨,매니저 장모씨는 2명의 변호인만 선임했다.

특히 기존에 선임했던 조남관 변호사는 검사 출신으로 법무부 검찰국장과 대검 차장검사 등을 지냈으며 2020년 윤석열 당시 검찰총장이 직무 정지되자 총장 직무대행을 맡은 인물이다.

김호중은 현재 특정범죄 가중 처벌 등에 관한 법률위반(위험운전치상) 등의 혐의로 구속기소 된 상태다.첫 공판 기일은 오는 10일 오후 2시 30분 서울중앙지법에서 형사26단독 재판으로 열릴 예정이다.

앞서 김호중은 지난 5월 9일 오후 11시 40분쯤 서울 신사동 도로에서 술에 취해 차를 몰다 택시를 들이받은 뒤 도주한 혐의를 받는다.또 이후 매니저에게 대신 자수를 시킨 혐의도 받고 있다.

이후 지난달 18일 특정범죄가중처벌법상 위험운전치상 및 도주치상,배트맨 야구 무승부도로교통법상 음주 운전 및 사고 후 미조치,배트맨 야구 무승부범인도피교사 등 혐의로 구속기소 됐다.

다만 검찰은 김호중이 시간 간격을 두고 여러 차례 술을 마신 만큼 위드마크 공식을 적용한 역추산으로는 음주 수치를 특정하기 어렵다며 경찰 수사 결과와 달리 도로교통법상 음주운전 혐의는 적용하지 않았다.
