대전 서부농협(조합장 임헌성)은 14일 서구 용문역 사거리에서 쌀 소비 촉진을 위해 농협쌀 햇반을 나눠 주며 홍보활동을 전개했다.

연간 1인당 쌀 소비량이 역대 최저치를 기록하며 국내 쌀 시장이 큰 어려움을 겪고 있다.이에 서부농협 임직원들은 아침밥 먹기 생활화를 적극적으로 홍보하며 쌀 소비촉진 가두 캠페인을 벌였다.

또한 행사시 답례품으로 우리 쌀을 활용하는 등 쌀 소비 촉진을 위해 다방면으로 노력을 기울이고 있다.

임헌성 서부농협 조합장은 "쌀값의 지속적인 하락으로 재배 농가의 피해가 크다"며 "임직원 아침밥 먹기 캠페인 등에 적극 동참하고 쌀 소비 확대를 통해 지역경제 활성화가 될 수 있도록 적극 노력하겠다"고 밝혔다.
