태평양과 인도양을 연결하는 해상물류 거점인 싱가포르의 남부 항구에서 유조선이 충돌해 인근 해변까지 이틀째 기름띠 범벅이 됐습니다.

15일(현지시간) 로이터,야겜 하는곳블룸버그 통신 등에 따르면 싱가포르 해양항만당국(MPA)은 성명을 통해 14일 오후 2시 40분쯤 파시르 판장 항구에서 네덜란드 선적 준설선 '복스 막시마'가 정박해 있던 싱가포르 선적 유조선 '마린 아너'를 들이받았다고 밝혔습니다.

MPA는 이 사고로 마린 아너에 실려 있던 석유가 일부 유출됐으나 유류 탱크 연결을 차단하는 등 조처를 취해 현재는 유출이 멈춘 상태라고 전했습니다.

그러면서 석유 유출 대응선이 현장에 출동해 같은 날 오후부터 석유 제거 작업에 착수했다고 덧붙였습니다.

그러나 15일 현재까지 항구에서 10㎞ 정도 떨어진 센토사섬의 리조트 해변이 파도에 밀려온 석유에 뒤덮여 검은 띠로 범벅이 된 모습이 목격되고 있습니다.

이에 따라 주요 해변에 15일 현재 접근이 금지됐습니다.

MPA는 이번 사고에도 항행 안전이나 정박 작업 등에는 지장이 초래되지 않고 있다고 말했습니다.
