(타이베이=연합뉴스) 김철문 통신원 = 대만 폭스콘(홍하이정밀공업)이 인공지능(AI) 칩 선두 주자 엔비디아의 컴퓨팅 성능 향상을 위한 AI 칩인 GB200의 핵심 부품을 대량 수주한 것으로 알려졌다.

18일 경제일보 등 대만언론에 따르면 한 소식통은 최근 대만 폭스콘이 엔비디아의 NV링크(NVLink) 스위치를 독점 수주했다면서 이같이 밝혔다.

NV링크는 AI 데이터센터에 탑재되는 그래픽처리장치(GPU)와 중앙처리장치(CPU) 등 칩 간 데이터 전송을 원활하게 해주는 기술로,엔비디아가 칩 시장 지배력을 유지하는 데 큰 역할을 하고 있다.

특히 CPU와 AI GPU를 연결하는 브릿지 기술 부분,GPU와 GPU를 연결하는 스위치 기술 등 두 부분이 NV링크 핵심이다.

현재 5세대까지 나온 NV링크는 초당 1.8TB(테라바이트·1TB는 1천24 GB)의 양방향 데이터 처리를 가능하게 한다.

해당 소식통은 이번 폭스콘 수주량이 서버 랙(Sever rack) 주문 수량의 7배 이상에 달한다면서 매출총이익도 서버 조립보다 훨씬 높다고 설명하고,미트이로 인해 이익 창출에 큰 도움이 될 것으로 내다봤다.

게다가 델,미트HP,미트시스코,미트노키아,미트에릭슨 등 세계 7대 스위치 업계가 모두 폭스콘 고객사라고 언급하면서 이번 엔비디아와 계약으로 현재 전세계 스위치 시장 점유율이 75%가 넘는 폭스콘의 선도적 지위가 안정적으로 유지되는데 도움이 될 것으로 내다봤다.

앞서 류양웨이 폭스콘 회장은 최근 올해 폭스콘의 AI 서버 시장 점유율이 40%에 달할 것으로 내다봤다.
