이번에 신설되는 HBM 개발팀은 삼성전자가 상용화 및 개발에 주력하는 HBM3E(4세대 HBM),월드컵 홍보HBM4(5세대 HBM) 등을 담당할 것으로 관측된다.팀장은 손영수 부사장이 맡는다.

현재 삼성전자는 AI 산업의 거대 팹리스인 엔비디아에 HBM 제품을 공급하기 위해 노력하고 있다.특히 올해엔 HBM3E 8단 및 12단 제품에 대한 퀄테스트에 돌입했다.

어드밴스드 패키징(AVP) 개발팀과 설비기술연구소도 개편한다.전영현 부문장 직속으로 AVP 사업팀을 재편해 AVP 개발팀을 배치했다.반도체 업계에서 중요성이 높아지고 있는 2.5D,월드컵 홍보3D 등 최첨단 패키징 기술력을 강화하기 위한 전략으로 풀이된다.

설비기술연구소는 반도체 공정의 효율성을 높이는 데 집중한다.반도체 공정 전반과 양산 장비에 대한 기술 지원 등을 담당할 것으로 예상된다.

한편 삼성전자는 지난 5월 DS 사업부문 반도체 수장을 기존 경계현 사장에서 전영현 부회장으로 교체하는 등 반도체 사업의 혁신을 단행하고 있다.이달에는 800여 개 직무를 대상으로 DS 부분 경력사원도 채용 중이다.
