[앵커]

한국은행이 오늘 기준금리를 예상대로 동결했습니다.

시장의 관심이었던 금리 인하와 관련해서는,전국지도보기이창용 한은 총재가 "금리 인하를 할 수 있는 상황이 조성됐다"고 말했습니다.

그런데 이와 함께 시장 과열을 경계하는 '견제구'성 발언도 함께 내놨습니다.

황경주 기자가 보도합니다.

[리포트]

한국은행 금융통화위원회는 기준 금리를 연 3.5%로 유지하면서,전국지도보기그 어느 때보다 '금리 인하'에 다가선 모습을 보였습니다.

[이창용/한국은행 총재 : "물가상승률의 안정 추세에 많은 진전이 있었던 만큼 이제는 차선을 바꾸고 적절한 시기에 방향 전환을 할 준비를 하고 있는 그런 상황이 조성됐다고 말씀드릴 수 있을 것 같습니다."]

물가만 보면 인하 시점에 가깝다는 겁니다.

기준금리 인상이 시작된 2021년 8월 이후 거의 3년 만의 변화입니다.

그런데 뒤이어 '상당한 시간이 걸릴 수도 있다'는 말을 덧붙였습니다.

원인으로 꼽은 건 가계부채 증가세입니다.

최근 수도권을 중심으로 부동산 시장이 들썩이며,전국지도보기은행권 주택담보대출 증가 폭이 석 달 연속 커졌습니다.

[이창용/한국은행 총재 : "금리 인하의 시점에 대해서 잘못된 신호를 줘서 기대를 너무 크게 해서 주택가격 상승을 촉발하는 그런 정책 실수는 하지 말아야 한다는 것…."]

8월 인하설이 유력하던 시장에선 10월 인하로 전망을 잇달아 수정했습니다.

[박상현/하이투자증권 이사 : "결국 이제 다음 달 금리를 인하하느냐 안 하느냐라는 게,전국지도보기시장에 어떤 신호를 줄 거냐라는 게 가장 큰 초미의 관심사였는데 8월은 금리 인하가 어렵다라는 걸 분명히 하신 것 같습니다."]

장중 한 때 연고점을 경신했던 코스피는 금리 동결 결정에 다소 주춤했지만 장 후반 상승 폭을 키우며 2천9백 선에 바짝 다가섰습니다.
