자궁근종 치료 경구제 신약의 국내 개발·판매 등 도맡아JW중외제약은 일본 킷세이제약과 자궁근종 치료제인 '린자골릭스(Linzagolix)'의 국내 개발,판매 등을 위한 독점권을 체결했다고 11일 밝혔다.

린자골릭스는 킷세이제약이 개발한 GnRH(성선자극호르몬분비호르몬) 길항제다.여성 호르몬인 에스트로겐 생성을 억제해 자궁근종으로 인한 과다월경출혈 등 증상을 완화한다.1일 1회 복용이 가능한 경구제다.

이 의약품은 미국과 유럽에서 실시한 임상 3상을 통해 검증됐다.임상 3상은 단독투여군과 호르몬 보충약물요법(ABT) 병용투여군 등 2개 그룹으로 나뉘어 진행됐고,그 결과 모두 유효성이 확인됐다.2022년 6월 유럽에서 판매 승인받았다.

JW중외제약은 이번 계약을 통해 국내에서 린자골릭스에 대한 개발,제조,판매,유통할 수 있는 독점적 권한을 확보했다.국내 출시를 위해 가교임상(유효성·안전성 확인)을 진행하고,파리 마르세유자체 제조·생산 인프라를 구축할 예정이다.

JW중외제약 관계자는 "린자골릭스가 자궁근종 환자들의 삶의 질을 개선할 것으로 기대된다"며 "자궁근종 치료 분야에서 혁신적인 솔루션을 제공할 수 있는 중요한 계기가 될 것"이라고 전했다.

한편,자궁근종은 자궁을 대부분 이루고 있는 평활근에 생기는 양성종양으로,파리 마르세유35세 이상의 여성의 약 40%에서 나타나는 흔한 질병이다.국내에는 자궁근종 치료를 위한 GnRH 작용제(agonist)인 주사제 제품이 있다.
