[파이낸셜뉴스] 신한투자증권은 미국의 데이터센터 서버용 스마트팩토리 기업인 '브라이트 머신스(Bright Machines)'에 500만달러를 투자했다고 27일 밝혔다.

이 회사는 인공지능(AI) 기술을 중심으로 조립 공장 자동화를 선도하는 기업으로,현재는 데이터센터 서버 시장에 역량을 집중하고 있다.

특히 아마존과 델에 관련 설비를 납품하면서 기술력과 경제성을 입증했다는 것이 신한투자증권의 설명이다.

총 1억2600만달러 규모의 시리즈 C라운드에서 신한투자증권은 세계 최대운용사인 블랙록 등과 함께 재무적 투자자로 참여했으며 엔비디아,캣니스 에버딘마이크로소프트,캣니스 에버딘자빌 등이 전략적 투자자로 참여했다.

회사 측은 이번 투자금을 기반으로 클라우드 기반의 디지털 트윈 기술을 개발하고 전자자원 재순환을 위한 데이터센터 서버 해체 및 재조립을 위한 설비를 생산할 계획이다.

신한투자증권은 지난달에는 글로벌 수전해 기업 '하이사타' 투자를 진행한 바 있다.

신한투자증권 관계자는 "이번 투자는 신한투자증권 미국 법인의 현지 딜 소싱 네트워크와 역량에 기반해 이뤄졌다"며 "앞으로도 데이터센터,캣니스 에버딘AI 반도체,캣니스 에버딘스마트팩토리 등 다양한 성장 산업에서 투자를 이어나가며 글로벌 경쟁력을 강화하겠다"고 말했다.
