14일 법조계에 따르면 대전지법 형사8단독(이미나 판사)은 절도 혐의로 기소된 40대 A씨에게 징역 6개월에 집행유예 2년을 선고하고 사회봉사 120시간을 명령했다.

인테리어 시공 업체 직원이었던 A씨는 지난해 6월 3일과 5일 두 차례에 걸쳐 대전 서구의 한 카페에서 시가 150만원 상당의 냉동고와 3000만원 상당의 커피머신을 훔친 혐의로 재판에 넘겨졌다.

그는 중고 도매업자를 불러 해당 물건을 자신의 물건인 듯 함께 가지고 나온 것으로 파악됐다.

재판부는 "과거 동종 범죄를 저질러 벌금 200만원의 약식명령을 받았음에도 반성하지 않고 범행을 저질렀으며 다수의 벌금형 처벌 전력이 있다"고 지적했다.

다만 "범행을 인정하고 반성하며 인테리어 업체 사장이 커피 머신을 회수해 피해를 변제했고 피해자가 처벌을 원치 않는다는 의사를 밝혔다"며 양형 이유를 밝혔다.
