의정부지법 고양지원 제1형사부(김희수 부장판사)는 12일 살인 혐의로 구속기소된 50대 A씨에 대한 첫 재판을 열었다.

A씨는 지난 5월 13일 오전 경기 파주시 적성면 한 농막에서 60대 남성 B씨의 머리를 둔기로 여러 차례 내리쳐 숨지게 한 혐의로 기소됐다.

이들은 덤프트럭 운수업을 하며 알게 된 사이로 사건 발생 전날 지인들과 함께 술을 마셨다.이후 지인들이 떠난 뒤 A씨와 B씨는 단둘이 술자리를 이어간 것으로 확인됐다.

범행 직후 도주했던 A씨는 같은 날 오후 3시 30분께 파주시 문산읍 한 주택가에서 긴급 체포됐다.

A씨는 "술을 마시다 기억이 끊겼고 눈떠보니 B씨가 죽어있었다.두려움에 도망갔다"는 취지로 진술한 것으로 전해졌다.

이날 A씨 측 변호인은 "검찰의 증거를 모두 동의한다"면서 "국민참여재판을 희망한다"고 요청했다.

국민참여재판은 국민으로 구성된 배심원이 직접 재판에 참여해 유·무죄와 양형에 대해 평결을 내리는 제도다.재판부는 심문 기일을 종결하고,던전슬래셔 카페국민참여재판 결정 여부를 논의하기로 했다.
