[헤럴드경제=권제인 기자] KT가 소규모 조직 개편을 단행했다.그룹 브랜드 이미지 제고와 사내 안전·보건 관리를 강화하고 AI 역량을 높이기 위해 신동훈 전 엔씨소프트 AI테크 센터장을 영입했다.

1일 통신업계에 따르면 KT는 이날 브랜드 전략실장과 안전·보건 총괄을 신설하는 내용의 조직 개편을 했다.

경영지원부문 산하였던 안전·보건 담당이 안전·보건 총괄로 격상돼 사내 독립 조직이 됐다.최고경영자(CEO) 산하 전략실,1070회 로또제외수재무실 등 각 부문과 같은 계위로,1070회 로또제외수안전·보건 총괄은 임현규 경영지원부문장(부사장)이 겸직한다.

역시 신설된 브랜드 전략실장은 윤태식 브랜드 커뮤니케이션 담당(상무)이 맡게 됐다.경영지원부문 소속 브랜드 전략실은 그룹의 브랜드 및 기업 이미지(BI·CI) 전략을 수립하는 등 계열사를 포함한 그룹 전체의 이미지 제고를 담당한다.

마이크로소프트와 인공지능·클라우드 분야 협력을 위한 전략적 파트너십을 체결하는 등 AI 역량 강화를 내건 KT는 AI 담당 조직인 AI2XLab 산하‘AI 코어 기술 담당’에 엔씨소프트 AI 테크 센터장이었던 신동훈 상무를 영입했다.

이번 비정기 조직개편은 임원 수십 명 교체 등이 거론되던 것과 달리 비교적 소폭 인사로 마무리됐다.
