(서울=연합뉴스) 정준영 기자 = 서울 용산구(구청장 박희영)는 지난 25일 한강로동주민센터에서 '삼각지 한전 부지 임시 공공주차장 조성 주민설명회'를 열었다고 27일 밝혔다.

구는 한강로1가 231-30 일대 8천626㎡에 임시 공공주차장 조성을 추진하게 된 배경과 사업 진행 현황과 계획 등을 설명했다.주차 면수는 약 220대로 예상된다.

이 일대는 다세대 주택과 상가 등이 밀집한 데다 방문객이 많은 삼각지역 앞,나눔로또 로고용리단길 인근 지역이어서 주차 문제가 심각해지고 있다.

구는 이에 지난해 말부터 지역 내 유휴부지인 한국전력공사 부지를 주차장으로 조성하고자 협의를 진행해 지난 2월 한전과 임시 공공주차장 조성에 대한 협약을 체결했다.

구는 서울시 특별조정교부금을 신청해 총사업예산의 97%인 19억원을 확보했으며 다음 달 공사를 발주해 연말에 개방할 계획이다.

설명회에 앞서 사업 부지를 찾은 박희영 구청장은 이용하기 쉬운 공간 배치와 편의시설 제공 등을 당부하고,나눔로또 로고공사 중 발생하는 소음과 분진 등에 따른 주민 불편을 최소화하라고 지시했다.

박 구청장은 "한강로동 주민의 고질적 주차난 해소를 위한 오아시스를 찾은 느낌"이라며 "부족한 주차 공간 마련을 위해 자투리땅 주차장 조성 사업과 부설주차장 개방 사업 등 다양한 방법으로 공공주차장 확보에 노력하겠다"고 말했다.
