인천공항 세관 직원들의 마약 밀반입 연루 의혹을 수사하는 경찰이 담당 검사 직무배제를 요청했다.

서울 영등포경찰서는 지난 12일 인천세관 마약 밀반입 연루 의혹 수사를 담당하는 서울남부지검 A 검사에 대한 직무배제와 회피를 요청했다고 19일 밝혔다.경찰 관계자는 "검찰이 직무배제 요청 법적 근거가 없다며 답변하지 않고 있다"고 설명했다.

경찰은 지난해 10월과 올해 4월 국내로 마약을 들여온 말레이시아 조직원들의 범죄 첩보 보고서와 폐쇄회로(CC)TV 자료를 확인·확보하기 위해 인천세관 컴퓨터 등에 대한 압수수색 영장을 신청했지만 검찰이 두 차례 모두 반려했다.

경찰은 지난해 1월 말레이시아·중국인 등으로 구성된 다국적 마약조직이 인천공항 보안검색대를 통과하지 않고 필로폰 24kg를 밀반입해 입국할 수 있도록 도운 세관 직원 7명을 마약류관리법 위반 등 혐의로 입건해 수사 중이다.
