행사에는 김명주 경남도 경제부지사,천영기 통영시장,버스운송회사 대표 등이 참석한 가운데 열렸다.

수소교통복합기지는 통영시 광도면 시내버스 차고지 인근에 설치된 수소 생산·충전 시설로,인터넷 도박 게임경기 평택에 이어 전국 두 번째로 건립됐다.

하루 1.9t의 수소를 생산할 수 있는 2기의 충전설비로 시간당 수소버스 5대(100㎏)를 충전할 수 있다.

저렴한 가격에 수소를 공급할 수 있어 경제성을 확보했으며,차량 정비·세차 등이 가능한 정비동을 갖춰 운송사업자의 편의도 도모했다.

통영시는 버스 운송조합인 부산교통,인터넷 도박 게임통영교통,신흥여객자동차와 협약을 체결해 현재 7대인 수소시내버스를 2034년까지 91대로 확대할 계획이다.

김명주 경제부지사는 "수소 교통복합기지는 수소차 충전 편의와 접근성을 높여 친환경 에너지 확장 기반이 될 것으로 기대한다"면서 "앞으로 수소 벙커링,수소 관광선박으로 사업을 확장하는 등 수소산업 인프라를 지속적으로 확대해 나가겠다"고 밝혔다.
