송미령 농림축산식품부 장관은 19일 정부세종청사에서 진행된 월례기자간담회에서 "삼겹살 가격 중 실제 돼지고기 가격이 차지하는 비중은 17%(3,500원)밖에 되지 않는다"며 "나머지는 인건비와 상차림비,맥북 비밀번호 찾기임대료 등 부담인데 인건비 부담을 줄이겠다"고 말했다.'돼지고기 가격' 때문이 아니라,다른 부대 비용 부담 탓에 가격이 비싸다는 얘기다.
