안데스산맥의 얼음이 녹으면서 22년 전 실종자가 미라 상태로 발견됐습니다.

페루 일간 엘코메르시오와 안디나통신에 따르면 페루 경찰은 우아스카란 산(해발 6천768ｍ) 제1캠프(5천200ｍ)에서 시신 1구를 발견했습니다.

시신 수습은 지난 5일께 페루 경찰 산악구조팀과 설산 등반 가이드 업체 측 인력에 의해 진행됐습니다.

사망자는 22년 전 실종된 미국 국적 윌리엄 스탬플이라고 AFP 통신 등은 전했습니다.

스탬플은 2002년 6월 24일 지인 2명과 함께 등반하던 중 눈사태로 실종됐습니다.

당시 3명 중 1명의 시신은 찾았으나,스탬플과 나머지 한 명의 행방은 오리무중이었다고 엘코메르시오는 전했습니다.

스탬플의 시신은 발견 당시 미라 상태였습니다.시신 위에 덮였던 눈과 얼음 영향으로 옷,월드컵 조편서하네스,로프,월드컵 조편서등산화 등은 거의 원형을 유지했다고 경찰은 전했습니다.

경찰은 시신 품에 있던 소지품 중 운전면허증을 통해 사망자 신원을 확인했다고 덧붙였습니다.

우아스카란은 페루에서 가장 높은 산으로,안데스산맥 일부인 코르디예라 블랑카 산맥에 위치해 있습니다.
