[이데일리 김현식 기자] 그룹 인피니트 멤버인 김성규가 뮤지컬‘킹키부츠’10주년 공연에 합류했다.

9일 소속사 더블에이치티엔이에 따르면 김성규는 9월 7일 서울 블루스퀘어 신한카드홀에서 개막하는‘킹키부츠’에 주인공 찰리 역으로 출연한다.

‘킹키부츠’는 영국 노샘프턴의 수제화 공장들이 경영악화로 폐업하던 시기 유일하게 살아남은 구두공장의 성공기를 각색해 만든 작품이다.브로드웨이를 휩쓴 이 작품은 2014년 국내에서 초연했다.올해 6번째 시즌이자 10주년 공연으로 관객과 만난다.

김성규가 연기하는 찰리는 가업으로 물려받은 폐업 위기의 구두 공장을 살려내기 위해 고군분투하는 캐릭터다.앞서 김성규는 2020년과 2022년 공연한‘킹키부츠’에서 찰리 역을 맡아 관객의 사랑을 받은 바 있다.

김성규는 그간‘킹키부츠’를 비롯해‘광화문연가‘엑스칼리버‘킹키부츠‘레드북‘디어 에반 핸슨’등 다수의 뮤지컬에 출연해 입지를 다져왔다.

‘킹키부츠’는 11월 10일까지 공연한다.
