코나 일렉트릭 생산은 현대차가 인도네시아에 진출한 완성차 업체 중 최초로 전기차 배터리셀부터 완성차까지 현지 생산 및 판매 체계를 갖춘 유일한 기업이 된다는 점에서 의미가 있습니다.

본격적인 전기차 생태계를 구축하면서 물류비도 줄이고,배터리 공급 납기일까지 단축시켜 전기차 생산 효율을 크게 향상시킬 수 있습니다.

이를 통해 현대차는 아세안 시장을 적극 공략할 계획입니다.현대차는 지난해 7천475대의 전기차를 판매하며 인도네시아 시장 점유율(44.3%) 1위를 기록한 바 있습니다.

아세안 지역은 차세대 자동차 시장 수요를 책임질 블루오션으로 관심을 받아왔습니다.지난해 아세안 자동차 시장은 335만5천136대로,케이비오리그이 중 인도네시아가 29.9%의 비중으로 가장 큰 규모를 차지하고 있습니다.

현재 인도네시아에서 현대차는 현지 특화 전략 차종인 크레타와 MPV(다목적차량) 스타게이저,케이비오리그싼타페,케이비오리그아이오닉5 등 4종의 차량을 만들고 있습니다.

올해 1분기(1~3월) 기준 현대차 인도네시아 생산법인의 생산능력은 2만300대,생산실적은 2만2천520대를 기록하며 110.9%의 가동률을 기록했습니다.이는 한국 공장(114.9%)을 제외하고 해외 공장 가운데 가장 높은 수치입니다.

현대차 인도네시아 생산법인의 누적 공장 판매대수는 올해 5월말 기준 19만2천792대로 집계됐습니다.
