스마일배송 연간 3천만건…SSG닷컴 물량·물류센터 위탁도 논의 중

(서울=연합뉴스) 성혜미 기자 = CJ대한통운은 1일부터 G마켓의 익일 배송서비스 '스마일배송' 택배 배송을 전담한다고 밝혔다.

앞서 지난 달 정용진 신세계그룹 회장과 이재현 CJ그룹 회장은 두 그룹 간 전방위 협력을 약속하는 이른바 '사촌 동맹'을 맺고 우선 신세계 전자상거래 플랫폼인 G마켓과 SSG닷컴 물류부터 CJ대한통운에 위탁하기로 했다.

CJ대한통운은 '오네'(O-NE) 서비스를 통해 월평균 250만건,연간 3천만건의 G마켓 스마일배송을 도맡아 하기로 하고,지난달 30일 G마켓 풀필먼트센터 출고 물량에 대한 집화를 진행했다.

스마일배송은 판매자(셀러)가 미리 동탄 등에 위치한 G마켓 풀필먼트 센터에 물건을 입고해 두면 G마켓이 주문부터 재고관리,포장,2018 월드컵 우승후보배송에 이르는 물류 서비스를 제공하는 방식이다.

CJ대한통운은 스마일배송의 익일 도착보장 마감 시한을 기존 오후 8시에서 자정으로 늘릴 예정이다.

또 G마켓과 함께 이커머스 주문량 예측 시스템 등 활용 방안을 찾고,2018 월드컵 우승후보플랫폼 입점 사업자를 풀필먼트 고객사로 전환하기 위한 마케팅 활동을 벌이는 한편 G마켓 풀필먼트센터 4곳(동탄·백암·여주·이천 콜드체인) 위탁 운영 방안을 협의한다.

CJ대한통운은 앞으로 SSG닷컴의 쓱배송과 새벽배송 물량도 상당 부분 담당할 예정이며,2018 월드컵 우승후보SSG닷컴이 운영하는 물류센터 3곳(김포 2곳·오포)을 연내 위탁받는 절차도 협의 중이다.

신세계는 본업인 '유통'에 집중하고,2018 월드컵 우승후보'물류'는 전문기업인 CJ대한통운에 맡겨 비용 대비 효과를 최대로 끌어올리는 전략을 세웠다.

업계는 CJ대한통운이 G마켓과 SSG닷컴 물류센터 운영부터 연간 5천만건 넘는 배송까지 처리하면 연간 매출이 3천억원 이상 늘어나고,2018 월드컵 우승후보신세계그룹은 계열사 물류비를 최대 20% 절감하는 효과를 얻을 것으로 예상했다.

CJ대한통운 관계자는 "고품질 도착보장 서비스를 통해 이커머스 셀러와 소비자의 편의를 높일 수 있도록 노력할 것"이라며 "CJ그룹과 신세계 그룹의 본업 경쟁력을 기반으로 고객 혜택을 강화할 수 있는 성공적인 협업이 되길 바란다"라고 말했다.
