국가재난 긴급 구호활동 'BGF브릿지' 가동
생수·라면·초코바 등 1000명분 식음료 지원편의점 CU를 운영하는 BGF리테일은 폭우 피해를 입은 경북 안동 지역에 긴급 구호물품을 지원했다고 10일 밝혔다.

기상청 등에 따르면 경북 안동 지역에는 지난 7일 밤부터 시간당 50㎜가 넘는 집중호우가 내렸다.이로 인해 주택과 공공시설물 등이 파괴됐고,마을 주민들이 한때 고립되었다가 구조되는 등 수많은 이재민이 발생했다.

BGF리테일은 이날 지원 요청을 받자마자 행정안전부,전국재해구호협회와 구축하고 있는 재난 긴급 구호활동인 'BGF브릿지'를 가동,온라인 카드게임피해 현장으로 구호물품을 긴급 배송했다.

이번에 지원된 구호물품은 생수,라면,초코바,온라인 카드게임빵류,커피 등 총 1000명분 상당의 식음료들로,이재민과 구호 인력 등에게 공급된다.충북 영동군에도 동일한 구호물품 300인분이 지원된다.BGF리테일은 향후 호우 상황에 따라 피해가 발생하는 지역에 대한 추가 지원도 검토 중이다.

BGF리테일은 2015년 업계 최초로 행정안전부 등과 '재난 예방 및 구호에 대한 업무협약'을 맺고 전국 30여개 물류센터와 전국 1만8000여개 점포 네트워크를 기반으로 국가 재난 예방 및 긴급 구호활동을 지원하고 있다.이를 통해 폭우나 태풍,산불,온라인 카드게임가뭄 등 각종 재난·재해 발생 시 지역별 물류센터를 통해 피해 지역 주민과 복구 인력들을 위한 구호 물품을 제공하고 있다.

손지욱 BGF리테일 커뮤니케이션실장은 "지속되는 폭우에 주민들의 피해를 최소화하고 신속한 복구가 될 수 있도록 지원 활동에 적극 나설 것"이라며 "앞으로도 각종 재난 발생 시 전국 네트워크를 활용해 빠르게 도움을 드릴 수 있도록 편의점의 공익적 기능을 강화해 나갈 것"이라고 말했다.
