앞서 의회는 지난 달 26일 제279회 임시회 제1차 본회의를 열어 의장 후보에 단독 응모한 초선의 김선광(39·국민의힘·중구2) 후보에 대해 찬반 투표를 벌였으나 찬성 11표,클락 카지노 룰렛반대 11표가 나오면서 의장선출이 불발된 바 있다.

이 과정서 국힘 의원 상당수가 민주당 소속 의원들과 연대해 김 후보에 대한 반대 행보를 보이면서,국힘 대전시당은 윤리위원회를 열어 송인석,이상래,정명국,민경배,이재경,조원휘,이금선,송활섭,안경자 의원에 대한 징계수위를 논의 중이다.

김선광 후보도 정당한 이유없이 2차 투표에 불참을 유도해 의결을 방해했다는 이유로 징계 대상자에 올랐다.

윤리위는 전날 일부 의원들에 대해 소명을 받은 것으로 전해졌다.이 가운데 일부는 이날 징계수위가 결정될 가능성이 큰 것으로 알려진다.징계결과가 의장선거에 미칠 영향에도 관심이 모아진다.

3일 임시회에서 의장을 선출하지 못하면 재공고를 통해 의장 후보를 다시 접수받고 재차 임시회를 열어야 한다.
