도교육청은 청사 1층에서 일본군‘위안부’의 의미,기림의 날 유래,이더 리움 오픈 소스일본군‘위안부’피해자의 증언,위안소 설치 현황,함께 보면 좋을 일본군‘위안부’피해자 소재 영화 소개 등으로 일본군‘위안부’피해자들의 아픔과 헌신을 알리는 내용을 전시했다.특히 일본의 독일 베를린 소녀상 철거 요구와 이를 지켜내기 위한 시민들의 노력도 함께 알리고 있다.

김지철 교육감은 “아픈 역사를 반복하지 않기 위해 용기 내어 증언에 나선 분들께 존경과 감사를 전하며,이더 리움 오픈 소스고 김학순 할머니의 최초 증언이 있었던 8월 14일을 기념한‘기림의 날’이 오늘에 주는 의미를 되새겨 위안부 피해자분들의 명예와 존엄이 회복되고 마음의 상처가 조금이나마 치유되기를 바란다"며 "역사를 잊은 민족에게 미래가 없듯이 조국광복을 위한 선조들의 투쟁과 위안부 피해자의 아픔을 잊지 않고 기억하여 미래를 위한 평화와 인권 실현을 위해 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
