한국 다양성 협의체 발족식
[한국여성과학기술인육성재단 제공.재판매 및 DB 금지]

(서울=연합뉴스) 김현수 기자 = 한국여성과학기술인육성재단(WISET)은 우리 사회의 다양성·포용성 가치 증진을 위한 '한국 다양성 협의체'가 발족했다고 18일 밝혔다.

협의체에는 여성 과학 기술인 정책 및 사업을 담당하는 과학기술정보통신부 소속 공공 기관재단인 WISET을 비롯해 고려대 다양성 연구센터,온세미코리아,HP,무료 인기 게임GM 한국 사업장,포스코이앤씨 등 민간과 관계,무료 인기 게임학계,무료 인기 게임연구계 등 8개 회원사가 참여했다.

협의체는 앞으로 조직 문화와 규정 등 우리 사회 전반에 걸쳐 다양성을 보호·증진할 수 있는 정책 수립,제도 개선,무료 인기 게임다양성 지표 개발 등 활동을 펼칠 예정이다.

이날 서울 강남구 한국과학기술회관에서 열린 발족식에는 과학·기술계,대학,공공기관 관계자 등 100여명이 참석했다.반기문 전 유엔사무총장,이종호 과기정통부 장관 등은 영상 축사를 전했다.

협의체 초대 의장을 맡은 문애리 WISET 이사장은 환영사에서 "전례 없이 빠르게 변화하는 시대에 어느 한 집단의 통찰력만으로는 문제를 해결할 수 없다"며 "다양성과 포용의 가치를 바탕으로 연대,무료 인기 게임협력할 때 사회를 더욱 역동적으로 만들어 나갈 수 있을 것"이라고 말했다.

협의체 발족식 이후 열린 주제 토론에서 권지혜 WISET 정책연구센터장은 '과학기술계 DE&I(다양성·형평성·포용성) 증진을 위한 정책 방향'을 주제로 발표했다.

권 센터장은 "과학 기술계의 다양성과 포용성 가치는 구성원의 다양성을 넘어 과학 기술 분야의 성과와 혁신으로 이어질 중요한 가치"라고 전했다.
