5일 코인마켓캡에 따르면 이날 오전 9시15분 기준 비트코인 1개당 가격은 5만6870달러(약 7840만원)를 기록하고 있다.

비트코인 가격이 하락한 것은 미국 연방준비제도(연준·Fed)의 6월 연방공개시장위원회(FOMC) 의사록이 가장 큰 영향을 미친 것으로 풀이된다.

6월 FOMC 의사록에는 "위원들은 인플레이션이 2%를 향해 지속 가능하게 움직이고 있다는 확신을 높이기 위해 유리한 추가 데이터가 필요하다고 확인했다"고 적혔다.연준이 아직 금리를 인하할 준비가 되지 않았다는 의사를 밝힌 것이다.

2014년 파산한 일본 암호화폐 거래소 마운트곡스가 이달부터 수천 명의 채권자에게 약 14만1000개의 비트코인(약 90억 달러) 상환을 시작한다고 밝힌 것도 영향을 미치고 있다.

전문가들은 상환 시작 초기 상당한 매도세가 이어질 것이라고 보고 있다.

또 독일 정부가 올해 1월 불법 영화 사이트 '무비2k'로부터 압수한 비트코인 5만 개를 매도한다는 소식의 영향도 있다.블록체인분석업체 아캄인텔리전스에 따르면 독일 정부는 4일 5만 개의 비트코인 중 약 3000개(약 1억7500만 달러)의 비트코인을 매도했다.
